Our author, Janet Irwin was born to teach. Having qualified in 1967 (Homerton College, Cambridge) she has taught ever since in nurseries, schools and in private tuition culminating in Janet and her husband running their own nursery school in West Sussex. She also has four grown-up children herself.

Feeling her passion for teaching, in particular languages, could have a larger positive effect she started Minilingo to publish a set of practical learning aids. Originally starting on cassette, now moving to Book and CD, these products have already helped many to develop an interest in languages. This enables people to get more from life, especially travel.

Janet’s focus on learning being fun, especially through the use of rhyme and music is something she feels in key to the success of the series, and provides her with an enjoyable opportunity to be creative.
Janet is full of ideas, and with her co-producer Paul Rayner-Brown there will be many more products to come!
